I, obviously, do not know the terminology of CBN's contract, but like others have already stated, I believe there already is grounds for termination 'for cause'.I think the clear “for cause” violation was refusal to bring in a competent OC, QB coach and to turn over play calling duties despite being awful at it. Just point out how many times it has been suggested he needs to let someone else call the offense and how many times, year after year he refused.
I also think he should also be told that he is obviously not returning as coach next year due to his absolute failure but also he must turn over play calling immediately for the remainder of the games he coaches. He deserves nothing less than public humiliation and it could potentially get him to do something that would strengthen the for cause termination case.
But, demanding someone else call the offense (whether it'll work or not) lest he be fired at year's end 'for cause' isn't a horrible idea.
At this point, we gotta try SOMETHING.
