Kiffin has a consistent record of losing to teams he shouldnt. He has a consistent record of losing to ranked teams. And is a meh recruiter unless you want to use the cowbell angle which does have some truth...but how much? But when his train is on the rails the product on the field is good. I would like it a lot more if he brough Durkin with him.At least Kiffin has recruited before and done so successfully at one time. He fields a competitive team at Ole Miss which isn't easy to do. I'd take him over Chucky. Kiffin has gone 10-3 twice and 11-2.. Again, that isn't easy to do at Ole Miss. I think they get 9-11 wins again this year. I think they will be at least 5-1 headed to Athens. I'm not saying I want Kiffin, but he has a far better college resume than Chucky. I just don't get the fascination with Chucky.
Chucky is an old NFL guy which is a lot more relevant these days for college than ever. He knows how to do what Napier's big binder said he would do. I think Chucky has good connections and would be able to build a good staff. I just dont know if he can come straight into a Florida level job after sitting on the bench for 5 years though he has kept himself as active in coaching and current with the game as one could expect. He brings baggage with him that could turn some recruits off but I do think he is a well known guy in the state of Florida who recruits will want to play for given his resume. EDIT: I only like him if he brings in a good OC and not try to be the offensive guru and head coach after sitting out for a long time. In fact...I prefer whatever coach we hire is in that mold.
But honestly...dont think Stricklin even sniffs in that direction. Both are plan Bs/Cs imo.
