Featured Napier firing imminent? Fuchs and Stricklin go into hiding

Don't have time to go through the whole thread at the moment but for what it's worth...

I have also heard from a source that Steve Russell said this same thing: Napier gone on Monday.

And a second separate source heard the same story from Shane Matthews.

Urban hates Herman now.
If he wants to stay in Boca that’s fine and dandy . If he wants to coach in big time football games again he will bend the knee and bring his ass up I75 to Gainesville

My take on strick the whole time. I don't think the AD needs to be a football guy or even the dude who needs to be the hire guy. We have SOS, urban, donors, former players and other coaches who know what it takes to be successful. Why isn't this a committe decision, a group effort.

The AD needs to administer the department. Do what you are good at. It obvious hiring football coaches isn't his thing, but if he can raise money and guide the department, then he is good.
The problem is your end up with the Volleyball koont and the three baseball pussy AADs rolling their eyes any time the only sport that matters wants more of the money that the only sport that matters made.

If Stricklin is competent at facilities and fund raising that makes him the AD for facilities and fundraising, not the athletic director.

Then we deserve what we get/to lose foreverrrr.
Yeah, sunk cost fallacy x10,000 there. No player should be a factor.

Foundation of any program is HBC. From there it can be greatly helped or hindered by admin's ability & willingness to aid the HBC with the tangible ad valorem items (namely funding, via facilities, staff, NIL, etc).

But none of that stuff matters without the right guy in charge of the football. Alas, it's hard to get the right guy for football when you have the wrong admins. A point they themselves continue to prove...

The argument about "should we fire him now vs going into a bye week" is the same as whether he should have been fired at the end of last season vs now. You gain NOTHING by keeping him another week or two. The "noise in the system" right now is deafening. What do you gain by putting it off another week or two?
EDIT to add: you do take a significant risk by keeping him; maybe he slips up and wins the next couple and then the conversation about firing him becomes much more muddy, and the spineless will start whining that you can't fire him in the middle of a hot streak, that he's turned it around, etc. Right now even the pumpers are, if not on board with firing him, at least quiet about defending him. Be decisive.

You don't decide what to do about a head coach based on a single player no matter who they are.

I would, however, consider letting Lagway have an opinion (not decision, just an opinion, perhaps include him on the process), on the next coach.

It’s happening.
The fact that it’s happening too late, or the fact that it shouldn’t have happened at all since it was obvious to many Billy wasn’t the answer, doesn’t matter.
What does matter is that Billy will be given the axe (or sling blade, if you prefer) very soon. Along with the incompetence and embarrassment he’s collected as executive staff.
No amount of buyout, nor worry of players whom might stay or leave, have any bearing.
This has been a colossal, epic failure that needs to be expunged.
Goodbye Billy. Forever in the halls of Gator lore will you forever be remembered as a smooth brained, slow, and incompetent fool. Congrats on fooling your ignorant boss that’s well on his way of proving his own incompetence, ignorance, and self immolation.
Looking forward to the immediate future ahead.

It done all the time in pro ball. This is pro training so why not.

We arent keeping a loser coach because of a QB may not like it. But then again this admin is whacko.

The myth that they didn’t only existed on message boards for some odd reason. Just like decision makers seeing 2nd Ave flooded with people leaving early and booing on their way out.
Lol...get ready for disappointment. The boosters are ponying up to pay the buyout for a crappy hire that they had nothing to do with. Whats going to be your answer when yet another hire gets done that, just like the previous hires, they had nothing to do with? You keep confusing the paying money for the UAA's mistakes for actually being a part of the process of making those UAA mistakes.

Listen, I know the low IQ types think you can hire a guy off the street, but it isn't happening. It doesn't happen for good reason. It is hard to install terminology and a playbook even in the first YEAR. It is always a partial install the first year. It isn't even the slightest possibility to install anything beyond a play or two in one week and it would be a clusterfooks with even that.

Say it out loud so you understand, it will be someone in the building who has been practicing with the team all year.

It isn't going to be Urban, or SOS, or Saban or Bear Bryant or any other lunacy. Trust me on this.
Not at all. The coach would just adapt the terminology already in place.

The playbook needs tweaking on pass route COMBINATIONS. I saw some head scratchers yesterday like WTF?!?!?!?. Let's have the Z run a 10 yard curl and the slot to the side run a 10 yard out. Literally 2 receiver next to each other. I guess you can throw the ball up for grabs and hope one of your guys catches it. BTW, neither of ours did. Overhead and oob.

Run game blocking assignments are fine, but our OL is bad. Do they know what to do? They don't seem agressive. It's because their coach isn't agressive. He is a pvssy.

All I know for sure is I'm glad Billy ran off ETN so that we could feature our true star All-SEC big game day back, Montrell Johnson Jr, who carried 7 times yesterday for -7 yards.

or the stove with the center griddle section has an oval burner
  • PastyStoole PastyStoole:
Do you have burners that join together on the stove? That makes the oval pot more useable on the stove.

I’m looking at the 8 QT. On sale for $299

I have two 7.25 QT dutch ovens. They are really good. I'm compelled to use them all the time mostly because they are so damned expensive. My kids are going to love them when they have kids of their own.
